Butt of Lewis Lighthouse
Ink on paper
The West Coast of the Isle of Lewis, the northermost island in the Outer Hebrides, has some phenomenal scenery. If you walk along the coast you can see the rock strata in folds and curls while the sea beats against the cliffs. Pink thrift dots the grass.
At the far north point of the island lies the Butt of Lewis lighthouse. I have taken some liberties with the design of the lighthouse-keeper’s cottage, which in reality is a flat-roofed concrete building.
